DNCC conducts six mobile courts to ensure hygiene maintenance

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) operated mobile courts in different areas under its jurisdiction on Tuesday, to ensure maintenance of hygiene rules to stem further spread of coronavirus.

In total, six mobile courts were conducted on the second day of the ongoing nationwide lockdown.

A mobile court, led by Abdul Hamid Miah, chief revenue officer and executive magistrate of DNCC, was set up at Gulshan-2 area.

During the drive, 315 shops, parlors, vegetable shops, etc were inspected and eight people were fined Tk38,000 for illegally occupying sidewalks and doing business without wearing masks.

Moreover, three people were found involved in anti-social activities at a branch of Hilton Thai Spa, located on the sixth floor of house no-23/B, road-113 in Gulshan. They were handed over to the police.

Saleha Binte Siraj, regional executive officer and executive magistrate of Mirpur-10 zone, led a mobile court at Darus Salam area.

During the drive, 10 people were fined a total of Tk1,000 for not wearing mask.

A third mobile court was operated at Sonargaon Janapad Road and Moylar Junction at Sector 12 of Uttara.

A number of 10 persons were fined a total of Tk1,290 during the operation for not wearing mask properly. Besides, one hotel owner was fined Tk5,000 for serving food inside a hotel violating lockdown rules.

Sajia Afrin, regional executive officer and executive magistrate of Harirampur zone led the drive.

Another mobile court was operated in Ward No-38 of Zone-10 under the leadership of Persia Sultana, an executive magistrate of DNCC.

During the drive, Tk13,000 fine was levied in two cases for not wearing masks, disobeying government orders and not having a trade license.

Another mobile court was operated at Uttarkhan area on the day. The drive was headed by Abed Ali, the regional executive officer and executive magistrate of Uttarkhan.

Meanwhile, a mobile court conducted in Bhatara area levied a fine of Tk9,500 in eight cases. Md Abdullah Al Mamun, property officer and executive magistrate of DNCC led the drive.

DNCC officials said mobile court drives will continue in the coming days to ensure maintaining of hygiene rules during the ongoing lockdown.
