Sajedul Islam new vice-president of DSE Brokers Association

The DSE Brokers Association (DBA) has elected Md Sajedul Islam as its new vice president.

Prior to this, Sajedul Islam, managing director of brokerage firm Shyamol Equity Management Ltd, was serving the association as its director.

The DBA board in its 73rd meeting held on Tuesday elected Sajedul Islam as the vice-president of the committee for the current tenure, according to a press statement.

The post of the DBA's vice-president fell vacant a few weeks ago after Mohammad Ali, who was serving the DBA as its vice president, was withdrawn by his employer Dhaka Bank Securities from his designated position at the brokerage firm.

Following the demutualisation of the bourses, members of the Dhaka Stock Exchange formed the DBA in the mid-2010s as a platform to unite stockbrokers and play an organised role for the development of the local capital market.
