Zambia has invited Bangladesh to explore the opportunities of establishing a pharmaceutical plant on its land, while the southern African nation is keen on Bangladesh-made pharmaceutical products.

The proposal was given when the newly appointed Zambian High Commissioner to Bangladesh (resident in New Delhi) Percy P Chanda paid his maiden call on Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry on Thursday (30 January), a ministry press release said today (1 February).

During the meeting, the envoy conveyed interest in importing jute and jute products from Bangladesh while highlighting the potential for Bangladesh to import copper from Zambia.
