Md Shahin Alam, senior officer at Tongi Fire Service, confirmed the recovery and said the woman had been missing since Sunday (27 July) evening.
According to police and locals, the incident took place around 9pm on 27 July. The woman fell into an open manhole on the footpath along the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near Hossain Market area in Tongi. Locals attempted to rescue her but failed. Later, they informed the fire service and police.
