The victims have been identified as Nasrin, 32, wife of Md Kaiser, and their son, Abdullah Al Tayif, 3, both residents of the building.

CMCH police outpost officer-in-charge Nurul Alam Ashek, confirmed the incident.

He stated that Nasrin was shaking the gas cylinder due to low gas pressure while cooking when the explosion occurred. Both she and her son sustained severe burns. They were rushed to CMCH's burn unit, but as their condition worsened, they were referred to Dhaka.

According to hospital authorities, Nasrin sustained burns on 90% of her body, while her son suffered burns on 40% of his body. Their condition remains critical.
