The other accused named Shamim was arrested from Satkhira later in the afternoon. Both of them were being brought to Detective Branch Dhaka office while filing this report at 8:00pm.

Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department at Buet, was bludgeoned to death by Chhatra League leaders and activists inside his dormitory over a Facebook post protesting against a recent deal between Bangladesh and India.

Barkat Ullah, father of the deceased Abrar Fahad, subsequently filed a murder case with Chawkbazar Police Station implicating 19 Buet students.
