According to police and locals, the procession began at the gate of Laila Kabir College and ended near Binajuri Green Tower.
Two people were detained after leaders and activists of the Awami League, whose organisational activities are currently suspended, and its banned student wing, the Chhatra League, held a torchlight procession in Fatikchhari last night (30 November).
The march took place in Nanuppur at an unspecified time, and video clips of the gathering circulated widely on social media.
Police later arrested two individuals, Md Ershad and Hridoy, identifying them as activists of the Awami League and Chhatra League.
Fatikchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nur Ahmad said efforts are underway to identify the remaining participants. "We are identifying them from the video footage. Two have already been arrested," he said.
According to police and locals, the procession began at the gate of Laila Kabir College and ended near Binajuri Green Tower.
The group moved quickly and dispersed within minutes. Footage shows around 20 to 25 participants carrying torches. Some wore helmets, while others covered their faces with cloth.
