Two-day Zakat Fair begins Saturday
The Zakat fair will be open to all from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday (23 February)

A two-day Zakat Fair will be held in the capital from Saturday (22 February) with the theme "Zakat for building a new Bangladesh".
Fair organising committee Convener Mohammad Abdul Majid announced the decision at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) today (20 February).
Senior officials from the Center for Zakat Management, including its executive forum Convener and Group Director of Rahimafrooz Group Munwar Misbah Moin, were present during the press conference.
The Zakat fair will be open to all from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday (23 February).
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin will inaugurate the fair at Aloki Convention Center at Tejgaon-Gulshan Link Road at 11am on Saturday, said the organisers.
Speaking at the press conference, Majid said "We think Zakat can play a vital role in building a just and poverty-free country, a dream that the people have developed since the July uprising. Giving Zakat properly will not only bring people out of poverty but make them self-reliant and able to become a donor in the future."
A total of seven sessions will be conducted during this year's Zakat fair, where the Secretary General of World Zakat and Waqf Forum Datuk Dr Mohd Ghazali Noor will be present as the guest of honour.
