Technical glitch disrupts Dhaka metro service for an hour

Metro rail services on the Uttara-Motijheel route have resumed after around one hour of suspension due to a technical fault.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Abdur Rouf said the services remained suspended for 55 minutes this afternoon (25 January) due to a technical fault.
The services resumed around 2:40pm after the end of repair work.
Meanwhile, due to the disruption in metro rail service, there was a crowd of passengers at the stations, with many waiting for the trains.
Md Ahsanullah Sharifi, deputy project director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), told Prothom Alo that the director (Operations and Maintenance) informed him that train operations on the Pallabi to Motijheel line are running normally. There was some disruption due to mechanical issues.
There are some issues at the Uttara North station, he added.
