Karnaphuli Express derails in Brahmanbaria, disrupts Dhaka's rail communication with Ctg, Sylhet for 4.5 hours
Train movement returned to normal around 7:50pm after a rescue train from Akhaura Junction recovered the derailed coach.

Rail communication between Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet regions was disrupted for nearly four and a half hours today (6 September) after a coach of the Chattogram-bound Karnaphuli Express derailed in Brahmanbaria.
The incident occurred around 3:20pm near a level crossing outside the Brahmanbaria Railway Station, shortly after the train had departed following its scheduled stop.
Brahmanbaria Railway Station Assistant Master Shakir Jahan told The Business Standard that the 'Cha' coach of the train suddenly derailed with a loud noise, forcing the suspension of rail traffic on the down line.
Train movement returned to normal around 7:50pm after a rescue train from Akhaura Junction recovered the derailed coach, he said, adding that the cause of the derailment can only be confirmed after an investigation.
