Inter-district buses to get dedicated road to arrive at Gabtoli: Dhaka north administrator
“In particular, all inter-district buses from North Bengal will use the new road to enter and exit the BRTA depot at the Gabtoli terminal. It will serve as a dedicated road for the inter-district buses,” he said

A separate road will be constructed to ease the entry of buses from various districts to Gabtoli bus terminal, Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Mohamad Azaz has said.
"In particular, all inter-district buses from North Bengal will use the new road to enter and exit the BRTA depot at the Gabtoli terminal. It will serve as a dedicated road for the inter-district buses," he said at a meeting following a visit to the Gabtoli terminal BRTA bus depot today (25 April).
Once the road is constructed, inter-district buses will no longer use the direct route via the Aminbazar Bridge to reach the BRTA depot. "As a result, this will restore order to the Gabtoli terminal-centric traffic, curbing congestions on a large-scale."
The administrator noted that currently the DNCC, BRTA, DMP and other relevant agencies are working in coordination to ensure discipline on roads.
"No vehicles will be allowed to stand outside the Gabtoli terminal. Also, there will be no transport ticket counters outside the terminal. Everything related to inter-district travel will be carried out inside the terminal," he said.
Commenting on battery-run rickshaws, he said trappers will be installed on the main roads stretching from Mirpur sections-1 to 13 at the earliest to prevent movement of the illegal rickshaws.
Also, measures will be taken to shut the workshops where such battery-run rickshaws are assembled and repaired, he added.
The Dhaka north administrator was accompanied by BRTA Chairman Md Yasin, DNCC Chief Engineer Brig Gen Md Moin Uddin, DMP Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Md Sarwar and DNCC Zone-4 Regional Executive Officer Mohammad Jalal Uddin, among others.
