Military training location and method should be reconsidered: Shipping adviser
The adviser also informed that a specialist medical team is arriving from Singapore, and, based on doctors’ advice, the injured may be transferred there for treatment if required

Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) M Sakhawat Hossain has urged the Ministry of Defence to reconsider the location and method of military training exercises in order to prevent accidents like the recent plane crash in Uttara.
He made the remarks while speaking to reporters this morning (22 July) after visiting the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the wake of the tragic plane crash that killed 27 people, most of them children.
"To prevent such accidents from happening in the future, I will tell all agencies, especially the Ministry of Defence, that there seems to be a need of a fresh look at how and where such training should be conducted," Sakhawat said.
He added, "Dhaka city is densely populated, [it] gets affected by anything."
The adviser also informed that a specialist medical team is arriving from Singapore, and, based on doctors' advice, the injured may be transferred there for treatment if required.
The adviser was speaking in the context of the Air Force fighter jet crash, which was on a training mission, at the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara yesterday (21 July).
As of today, the death toll has risen to 27, including 25 children, while dozens more remain hospitalised with critical burns.
