“The engine derailed on the Mymensingh-bound line, halting train operations in that direction. However, services on the Dhaka-bound line remain unaffected.” the station master said

Train movement on one of the two railway lines connecting Dhaka to the northern region was suspended after a train engine derailed at Joydebpur Railway Station in Gazipur today (23 July).
The incident occurred around 12:30pm when the engine (Locomotive 6513) of the Joydebpur Commuter-3 train, travelling from Dhaka, went off the tracks just before entering the station.
Abul Khayer Chowdhury, station master of Joydebpur Railway Station said, "The engine derailed on the Mymensingh-bound line, halting train operations in that direction. However, services on the Dhaka-bound line remain unaffected."
He added that the railway authorities have been notified, and recovery operations are underway. Train movement on the suspended line will resume once the derailed engine is salvaged.
As of 2:30pm, the derailed engine had not yet been removed, and train movement on the affected line remained suspended.
