Tourist spots in Bandarban’s Lama reopen as weather improves
Amid persistent rainfall and the potential risk of landslides, resorts in the hillside region of Mirinja Valley were temporarily declared closed on Sunday

All tourist centres in Lama upazila of Bandarban have reopened after a four-day closure prompted by fears of landslides due to heavy rainfall.
The decision to reopen the sites was made during a meeting of the Lama Upazila Disaster Prevention Committee yesterday (4 June), said an official notice sent to various government departments.
Earlier, following persistent rainfall and the potential risk of landslides, tourist resorts in the hillside region of Mirinja Valley were temporarily closed as a safety precaution.
The initial closure was announced in a notice issued on Sunday, signed by the Upazila Project Implementation Officer and General Secretary of the Disaster Management Committee.
The order cited threats of natural disasters and landslides, based on a 1 June committee decision.
With the weather now stable, the committee has declared it safe to resume tourism operations in the area.
