Top listed criminals 'Pichchi' Helal, Emon will be brought to book: DB chief
Both criminals, who are now out on bail, have recently been implicated in cases involving murder and robbery

Top criminals Imam Ul Hasan, also known as "Pichchi Helal", and Sanjidul Islam Emon, who were recently released on bail, will be brought to justice soon, assured Rezaul Karim Mallik, the chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Addressing a press conference at the DMP Media Centre today (14 January), he emphasised the importance of maintaining law and order and stated that no criminal, including Helal and Emon, would be allowed to evade justice.
"We are taking all necessary steps to apprehend them, and they will certainly be arrested," said Rezaul in response to a journalist's query.
Both Helal and Emon have recently been implicated in cases involving murder and robbery. Emon was named the prime suspect in a case related to the brutal attack on two businessmen in Dhaka's Elephant Road area, leaving them critically injured.
Addressing the press, DMP Additional Commissioner Karim reiterated the police's zero-tolerance policy towards extortionists and muggers, asserting that such criminals have no place in the country.
"The police will deal with them with an iron fist. Intelligence surveillance has been intensified across the capital and other areas," he noted.
In the last 24 hours, DB arrested 27 individuals from across Dhaka and seized firearms, including pistols, magazines, and bullets.
Rezaul also said, "I am not intimidated by any threats while bringing criminals to justice. I have never bowed to wrongdoing and will not do so in the future. My focus remains on serving the country and its people."
The press conference was attended by other senior DB officials, including Joint Commissioner of Cyber Security and Support Centre (South) Syed Harun Or Rashid, Joint Commissioner (North) Mohammad Robiul Hossain Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner (DC - Tejgaon) Mizanur Rahman, and DMP DC Mohammad Talebur Rahman.
