Thunderstorms, hail and lightning likely in six districts, including Dhaka

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast thunderstorms, rain and hail accompanied by gusty winds in six districts, including the capital Dhaka, this afternoon (14 May).
Between 12:50pm and 4pm today (14 May), some areas in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Tangail, Narayanganj and Cumilla may experience rain or thunderstorms with gusts of 45–60km/h or more, the BMD said in its short-term weather alert.
"Do not go outside during lightning," the department advised.

"After hearing the last sound of thunder, stay indoors for at least 30 minutes."
Between 10:40am and 2pm today, parts of Habiganj, Kishoreganj and Brahmanbaria districts are also likely to see rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds at similar speeds, it added.
