Three arrested over gang-raping PSTU student
Police have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in the gang rape of a student of Pabna Science and Technology University (PSTU).
Officer in-Charge (operation) Sanjay Kumar Saha of Pabna Sadar Police Station said the accused were arrested from different areas of the city last night (10 December).
The incident occurred Monday night (9 December), said a release of the Police Headquarters (PHQ).

The arrested persons are identified as Mehdi Masud (26), Mahmudul Hasan Sajid (23), and Harun-Or-Rashid (27).
Upon learning about the incident from the victim, leaders of the Bangladesh Police Women's Welfare Association (PUNAK) brought the matter to attention and urged local police to provide her with legal assistance.
The PHQ release said the victim's ex-boyfriend Mehdi Hasan took her to the forest area of Merrill Bypass in the city on the pretext of having tea. From there they took the student to an isolated place nearby and violated her.
Victim's mother filed a case with the Pabna Sadar Police Station in this connection.
The arrested individuals were presented before the court and subsequently sent to jail.
