Thai Embassy extends visa facilitation for certain groups in Bangladesh
In response to the increasing demand for Thai e-visas following the service's introduction in Bangladesh in January, the Thai Embassy has announced additional visa facilitation for specific groups, effective from today (2 February).
Visa facilitation for specific groups:
Critical patients: Critical patients requiring life-saving medical procedures, including chemotherapy, major surgeries, cancer treatments, and cardiac care, as well as pregnant applicants with complications or expecting delivery, should contact their Thai hospital or an official hospital representative in Bangladesh to confirm urgency and relay the request to the Embassy. Each patient is permitted one attendant, with additional attendants required to apply through the normal procedure.

UN conference participants: Those attending conferences, seminars, and workshops organised by UN agencies in Bangkok should request the organising agency to submit their name and contact details to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand for visa facilitation. Participants may also email the Embassy in advance regarding the event.
Athletes: Athletes attending an international competition in Thailand should ask the relevant sports association or the Sports Authority of Thailand to send their name and contact details to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand for visa facilitation. Participants can also inform the Embassy about the event in advance via email.
The embassy is actively working to upgrade the application and payment systems to provide applicants with better service and experience, according to the Thai Embassy in Dhaka.
Visa processing takes at least 10 working days and applicants are strongly recommended to submit their applications early.
The embassy will be closed on 12 February to observe Magha Puja Day, a religious day for Buddhists, and payment will not be received.
