Tenure of RAB DG, SB chief extended
The notifications also said that their post-retirement leave (PRL) and associated benefits have been suspended under Section 49 of the Public Service Act, 2018.

The government has extended the tenures of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman and Special Branch (SB) Chief Golam Rasul on a contractual basis.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued two separate notifications in this regard today (31 August).
According to the notifications, Shahidur Rahman has been reappointed as additional inspector general of police for five and a half months, starting from 1 October. Golam Rasul's tenure has been extended for six and a half months from 1 September.
The notifications also said that their post-retirement leave (PRL) and associated benefits have been suspended under Section 49 of the Public Service Act, 2018.
Both reappointments were made on the condition that the officers will not accept employment in any other profession, business, or organisation—whether government, semi-government, or private—during the contract period.
Other terms and conditions of their appointments will be determined by the approved contracts, the notifications added.
