TCB to deploy 450 trucks to sell 5 products during Ramadan
More than 55 lakhs families across the country receive products from TCB at fixed prices through family cards.
Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has undertaken a special sales programme during Ramadan to ensure that ordinary people can easily purchase essential commodities
In addition to its regular operations, this state-owned trading organisation will sell five products through 450 trucks to provide extra supplies nationwide from tomorrow (17 February), confirmed TCB Deputy Director (Commercial) Md Shahadat Hossain.
He said, "Edible oil, sugar, lentils (masoor dal), chickpeas, and dates will be sold by these trucks. Each package will include two liters of soybean oil, one kilogram of sugar, two kilograms of lentils, one kilogram of chickpeas, and half a kilogram of dates. A buyer must purchase the entire package. Each truck will carry enough products to sell to 400 customers. This sales program will continue until 12 March."
Besides, sales activities through family card system will also continue.

However, there is some price difference between truck sales and family card sales.
Under the truck sales initiative, edible oil will be sold at Tk115 per liter, sugar at Tk80 per kilogram, lentils at Tk70 per kilogram, and chickpeas and dates at Tk160 per kilogram.
Under the family card system, edible oil will be sold at Tk100 per liter, sugar at Tk70 per kilogram, lentils at Tk60 per kilogram, and chickpeas and dates at Tk160 per kilogram.
