Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP, has assured the family of the rape victim child in Magura of bearing all the responsibility for the treatment of the child.

He talked to her mother over phone today and took all the responsibility for treatment of the girl and assured her of providing all kinds of legal support, the BNP's media cell said in a statement.

The third grader child, who was brutally tortured and raped while visiting her sister's house, is battling for life at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The 8-year-old child, a resident of Zaria village in Sreepur upazila of Magura, came to visit her elder sister's house in Mathpara village of Magura Sadar.

On 5 March, she was allegedly raped by her sister's father-in-law, Hitu Sheikh.

Her brother-in-law himself is also allegedly involved in the incident.
