Suspension on sending workers to Lebanon lifted
The Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon confirmed the information in a statement today (5 March)

The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has lifted the suspension on sending workers from Bangladesh to Lebanon.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon confirmed the information in a statement today (5 March).
Yesterday, the ministry officially withdrew the suspension.
The decision comes after the situation in Lebanon, which had deteriorated due to war, has now improved. As a result, Bangladeshi workers can once again travel to Lebanon for employment.
Anwar Hossain, labour counsellor at the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut, said in a video message, "The approval to send workers to Lebanon has been granted under certain conditions. The conditions are as follows: every demand letter must be attested by the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut. Workers can be sent only to areas with suitable working conditions, excluding the southern region of Lebanon near the Israeli border."
Last year, Bangladesh halted the deployment of workers to Lebanon due to the ongoing war along the Lebanon-Israel border. The government decided that Bangladeshi workers should not travel to Lebanon until the deteriorating security situation has improved.
As a result, on 13 August last year, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment issued an official notice instructing Bangladeshi workers not to travel to Lebanon.
The suspension remained in place for seven months.
Even, around 1,500 Bangladeshis have return home voluntarily with the help of International Organization for Migration (IOM) and expat ministry.
However, the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut recently informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the war situation in Lebanon has improved and that conditions are stabilising in various areas.
Based on this assessment, the final decision to resume sending workers to Lebanon has been made.
