Suspected crude bomb explosion leaves 3 critically injured in Barishal
Police said the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion and identify those responsible.
Three members of a family were critically injured in a suspected crude bomb explosion at a house in Barishal's Bakerganj upazila this morning (3 August), police said.
The explosion occurred around 6am at the home of Shah Alam Howlader in Dudhlamou village under Bharpasha union.
The injured were identified as Shah Alam's wife Hanufa Begum, daughter Eti and grandson Fahim.

The victims were initially taken to Bakerganj Upazila Health Complex before being referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal for advanced treatment.
The blast triggered panic among local residents, who rushed to the scene.
Police later secured the area, collected evidence and launched an investigation.
Bakerganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Adil Hossain said it was too early to determine the type of explosive used or identify those responsible.
"The incident is being investigated. It will be possible to confirm the type of explosive and those involved once the investigation is complete," he said.
Jamal, Shah Alam's son, claimed the explosion originated from a crude bomb kept inside a sack of sand beside the house.
"My mother, sister and nephew caught fire after the explosion. They jumped into the nearby Tulatala River to extinguish the flames. We have no idea how the bomb got there," he said.
