A group of BCS examinees staged a demonstration demanding to postpone the date of the 41st BCS examination, which is set to be held on 19 March.

They staged the demonstration in front of the National Museum in the capital's Shahbagh area today from 11am -1:30 pm, reports Prothom Alo.

They demanded the exam to be postponed and rescheduled in accordance with the university-college hall opening and Covid-19 vaccination activities.

Rafiqul Islam, a Buet student taking part in the protest said, "We agreed with the previous date announced by Public Service Commission officials since Covid infection rates were low."

"As the infection rate is rising again, the halls are closed and everyone is staying at home, the exam needs to be postponed," he added.

The 41st BCS circular was published in November, 2019 that saw 4.75 lakh candidates applying for some 2,135 posts.
