Standing committee on planning ministry formed in parliament, Moyeen Khan named chair
The House unanimously passed the proposal through a voice vote, in line with Article 76 of the Constitution and relevant provisions of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament
The standing committee on the Ministry of Planning for the parliament has been formed, following a proposal today (10 June) by Chief whip Nurul Islam Moni on behalf of prime minister during a session chaired by the Speaker.
The House unanimously passed the proposal through a voice vote, in line with Article 76 of the Constitution and relevant provisions of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament.
According to the Chief whip's proposal, Narsingdi-2 lawmaker Abdul Moyeen Khan has been appointed as the chairperson of the committee.
Other members include Md Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki (Brahmanbaria-6), M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu (Natore-2), Kazi Rafiqul Islam (Bogura-1), Moinul Islam Khan (Manikganj-2), Md Fakrul Islam (Noakhali-5), Md Shawkatul Islam (Moulvibazar-2), Reserved Seat-6 MP Mst Farida Yeasmin, Md Saiful Alam (Dhaka-12), and Md Rashedul Islam Rashed (Sherpur-1).
Following the approval of the proposal, the House also proceeded to reconstitute the Business Advisory Committee of parliament as part of the supplementary agenda, in accordance with constitutional provisions and parliamentary rules.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad (Bhola-3) has been appointed as the chairperson of the reconstituted committee.
Other members include Prime Minister Tarique Rahman (Dhaka-17), Md Shafiqur Rahman (Dhaka-15), Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain (Cumilla-1), Goyasawar Chandra Roy (Dhaka-3), Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (Thakurgaon-1), Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury (Chattogram-11), and Salahuddin Ahmed (Cox's Bazar-1).
The reconstituted committee also includes Deputy Speaker and Barrister Kayser Kamal (Netrokona-1), Nurul Islam Moni (Barguna-2), Md Asaduzzaman (Jhenaidah-1), Syed Abdullah Mohammed Taher (Cumilla-11), ATM Azharul Islam (Rangpur-2), Nahid Islam (Dhaka-11) and Barrister Muhammad Nawshad Zamir (Panchagarh-1).
