This decision was taken today at a virtual meeting today at 11 am.
The meeting, chaired by the Foreign Secretary, was attended by senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office, Secretaries of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Chairman of Civil Aviation, MD of Biman and other high officials.
The meeting decided that it is the responsibility of the recruiting agencies to bring the foreign bound migrant workers to the airport in compliance with the health rules including the Covid-19 Negative Certificate.
It was also decided in the meeting that expatriate workers will be able to come to the country only in case of emergency by obtaining clearance from the concerned Bangladesh Mission and complying with the quarantine conditions applicable in the country.
Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas, Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
