Special drone show lights up Dhaka sky in memory of July uprising martyrs
At 11pm, thousands gathered near the South Plaza of the National Parliament to witness the emotional 12-minute aerial performance. The drone display paid tribute to those killed and injured in the July uprising.

As part of the "36 July Celebration", a special drone show titled "Do You Miss Me?" illuminated the skies above Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka tonight (5 August).
The performance was part of the July reawakening event series commemorating the historic uprising and its martyrs.

At 11pm, thousands gathered near the South Plaza of the National Parliament to witness the emotional 12-minute aerial performance. The drone display paid tribute to those killed and injured in the July uprising.
The drone show presented a striking visual flashback of Bangladesh's 16-year fascist period, including haunting representations of the Aynaghar, extrajudicial killings, Bangladesh Bank heist, and a towering, grotesque image of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Before the drone display, a lineup of musical performances energised the crowd.
Popular rock band Artcell, F Minor from the Chittagong Hill Tracts, singer Parsha, and others performed for an enthusiastic audience. A documentary film chronicling the events of the July uprising was also screened.
Earlier in the evening, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus read out the July Declaration from the steps of the National Parliament's South Plaza. The declaration formally recognised the martyrs of the 2024 uprising as "National Heroes".
