The sound of explosions originating from a fight between Myanmar's Junta forces and the Arakan Army at Maung Daw city in Rakhine continues to reverberate throughout the border, with people living in Teknaf having to hear sounds of intense firing of mortal shells, grenades and bullets.
Locals said the sound kept coming from 11pm yesterday (22 November) to this noon (23 November).

However, no one was injured in the incident, said Mohammad Ali, a member of the Nhila union parishad.
Ali Ahmad, a resident of Teknaf's Shah Porir Dwip, said, "The sound of explosions is coming in from the other side of the border with regular intervals. Law enforcers have warned us not to go to the border areas."
Mohammad Sharif, a member of Ward No-5 of Teknaf's Sabrang union, said, "Residents of the area became frightened when the sound of explosions started on Friday night."
Arif Ullah Nizami, assistant commissioner (land) who is currently in charge as Teknaf's upazila nirbahi officer, said, "Households in Teknaf are vibrating due to the sound of explosions. Although it's an internal problem of Myanmar, the Border Guard Bangladesh [BGB] and Coast Guard have increased their surveillance so that no new Rohingya can enter Bangladesh."
