Shutkiz launches cooking competition ‘Seafood Chefs Challenge’

Shutkiz, a leading seafood production brand in Bangladesh has announced the launch of a cooking competition titled "Super Fresh Fortified Soyabean Oil Seafood Chefs Challenge."

This competition, in collaboration with the Women Culinary Association of Bangladesh, is designed to celebrate and promote seafood cooking across the country, offering a platform for talented chefs from Chattogram and Dhaka to display their skills and creativity.

Touhidul Islam, owner of Shutkiz, and Sayma Sultana, president of Women Culinary Association of Bangladesh, shared this information while making the announcement of the launch of the competition at a press conference held at the SR Rahman Hall of Chattogram Press Club this evening (1 January).

Shutkiz, known for encouraging innovative cooking, has previously gained widespread recognition with its nationwide competitions focused on dried seafood under the theme "Uuni Radhonot Guni Hon."

Building on that success, the brand is now introducing a new chapter in its cooking competition initiatives with a focus on seafood dishes.

The competition will allow chefs to showcase their culinary expertise while increasing awareness of seafood as a nutritious and versatile ingredient.

Open to all Bangladeshis aged 16 and above, the competition requires participants to register online through the Shutkiz website by 12 January.

Registration for the competition is open on the Shutkiz website, where participants can complete the process or contact the organisers directly for assistance.

Once registered, participants need to submit their recipes online, which will be reviewed by judges to select the top 40 contestants — 20 each from the Chattogram and Dhaka divisions — for the semi-final round.

The semi-finalists will compete to secure one of the 10 spots in the grand finale, where they will cook live in front of a panel of judges. The champion will receive a cash prize of BDT 1,00,000 along with other attractive rewards.

The judging panel includes prominent culinary experts such as Shaheen Afroz, Jobaida Asraf, Rowshan Ara Begum, Savina Siraji Eni, Linus Rosario, Hasina Ansar, Rubina Ruby, and Kausari Sultana.

Touhidul Islam said this initiative is expected to elevate Chattogram's food culture and promote the region's culinary talents on a national level.

Sayma Sultana emphasised the importance of utilizing Bangladesh's vast marine resources, describing seafood as a sustainable and nutritious option for future generations.
She added that increasing awareness about seafood could help the country make better use of its abundant marine wealth.

Another organiser Noor Akhter Jahan highlighted the affordability of home-cooked seafood and expressed hope that the competition would inspire people to integrate seafood into their daily diets.

The event is sponsored by Super Fresh Fortified Soyabean Oil as the title sponsor, with Confidence Salt as the platinum sponsor and support from brands like Perfect Electronics, Munno Ceramic, Rani Foods Industry, RFL Gas Stove, Saima's Creation, and Selai Ghor.
