SCBA calls for immediate removal of biased and controversial justices

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has called for the immediate removal of controversial and politically biased justices.
SCBA President Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon made the demand during a press conference held today (9 July) at the Shaheed Shafiur Rahman Auditorium of the SCBA in Dhaka.
During the event, Acting Secretary of SCBA Barrister Mahfuzur Rahman Milon and other members of the executive committee also collectively urged that the judiciary be freed from political influence.
In his remarks, Khokon said, "We strongly demand the public disclosure of how many controversial, partisan, and authoritarian regime-loyal judges have been removed following the mass uprising on 5 August last year.
"A complete list of judges who delivered verdicts based on political loyalty must be published."
Reiterating the SCBA's position, Khokon further stated, "On behalf of the Supreme Court Bar Association, we urge the authorities to uphold the sanctity of the judiciary and immediately remove all controversial and biased judges who granted remand based on party consideration, denied bail to political leaders with inhumane treatment, or issued verdicts against opposition activists."
