SAD to hold torch procession in Shahbag over Mitford murder

The Students Against Discrimination (SAD) has announced a torch procession in protest of the brutal killing of Old Dhaka trader Md Sohag.
The march is scheduled to take place in the capital's Shahbag at 7pm today (12 July).
Hasan Enam, general secretary of SAD, called on students and citizens across the country to join the protest under their respective platforms and banners.
Earlier in the day, during a press conference in front of the National Museum, the organisation's president Rifat Rashid alleged that political backing is behind every killing, attack, and lawsuit in the country.
"These incidents are not happening without political shelter. We will not allow anyone to rise as a fascist force in Bangladesh again," he said.
