Pirojpur-Kolkata bus services launched

A bus service from Pirojpur to India's Kolkata was inaugurated on Friday. 

Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sazzad Hossain and Police Superintendent Hayatul Islam Khan inaugurated the service at 7am at Pirojpur Zila Bus Terminal. 

Passengers of the district can now travel to the neighbouring country directly through Benapole Land Port by buses of Green Line Paribahan.

Md Nazrul Islam, an official of Green Line Paribahan, said 36-seat air-conditioned Hino Luxury bus will leave the district every morning and reach the destination at 2 pm. 

A bus from Kolkata will also enter the district directly following the same schedule, he added.

Passengers will have to pay Tk 1,200 to go to Kolkata from the district while 1,000 Indian Rupees has been fixed for travelling from Kolkata to Pirojpur. 

Travellers will be able to collect tickets from Bagerhat, Khulna, and Benapole counters. They also can book the tickets and get information by calling 01919 166 500 and 01919 777 303 numbers.
