Reserved women's seats polls soon: EC Masud
Speaking about the by-elections to Sherpur-3 and Bogura-6 constituencies, he said the Election Commission is also preparing to hold those polls at the earliest possible time
Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud today said the election to the reserved women's seats of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will be held soon.
"Election to the reserved women's seats will be held very soon. We are planning to conduct the polls during Ramadan," he told BSS.
Speaking about the by-elections to Sherpur-3 and Bogura-6 constituencies, he said the Election Commission is also preparing to hold those polls at the earliest possible time.

"However, the by-elections will not take place during Ramadan. Insha Allah, those will be held after Eid," he added.
On Monday, the Election Commission published a gazette notification declaring the Bogura-6 parliamentary seat vacant, as Tarique Rahman submitted a written notification to the Commission stating his decision to retain the Dhaka-17 seat, thereby vacating the Bogura-6 constituency.
The election for the Sherpur-3 constituency was suspended and subsequently cancelled following the death of a Jamaat-e-Islami candidate.
