Religious Affairs Ministry calls for special prayers for Hadi
The Religious Affairs Ministry said the government has decided to organize prayers in all mosques after Jumma prayers and corresponding prayers in other religious places of worship according to their respective faiths to seek blessings for the soul of martyr Sharif Osman bin Hadi, a courageous fighter at the forefront of the July Uprising.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged people and religious institutions across the country to offer special prayers and duas today (19 December) for the repose of the soul of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
In a press release issued at midnight on Thursday (18 December), the Ministry said the government has decided to organize prayers in all mosques after Jumma prayers and corresponding prayers in other religious places of worship according to their respective faiths to seek blessings for the soul of martyr Sharif Osman bin Hadi, a courageous fighter at the forefront of the July Uprising.
The Ministry requested that special prayers be arranged in every mosque and in temples, churches, and pagodas at appropriate times.
It has instructed the Director General of the Islamic Foundation, as well as the secretaries of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust, and Christian Religious Welfare Trust, to take the necessary measures to implement this directive.
Hadi's body, who died at a Singapore hospital yesterday (18 December) a week after a gun attack on him, has been brought back to Bangladesh today (19 December).
His body is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka around 6pm, according to Inqilab Moncho.
Hadi's namaz-e-janaza will take place tomorrow (20 December) after Zohr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital, the platform said.
