21st reform dialogue begins with focus on caretaker government
Several important reform issues, including the appointment process of the caretaker government chief are being discussed in the 21st session of the second-round dialogue

The National Consensus Commission began the 21st day of its second-round dialogue with political parties this morning (29 July), focusing on key reform issues including the formation of a caretaker government.
The meeting started around 11:45am at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
It was presided over by the commission's Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz. Other members present included Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Haque, Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, and Dr Ayub Mia.
Representatives from 30 political parties took part in the session, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizen Party (NCP), Gono Odhikar Parishad, Gonosonghoti Andolon, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Revolutionary Workers Party and Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party.
Several important reform issues, including the appointment process of the caretaker government chief are being discussed in the 21st session of the second-round dialogue.
The day's discussions also covered the appointment of the chief justice and the declaration of a state of emergency.
