Pubali Bank gifts two modern buses to BUET students

Pubali Bank PLC has donated two modern buses to Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to enhance student transport comfort and convenience.
A handover ceremony took place on Saturday, 11 October 2025, at the BUET Transport Pool, where Pubali Bank Managing Director and CEO Md Touhidul Alam Khan officially presented the symbolic key to BUET Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Abu Torab Mohammad Ziaur Rahman. Professor Dr Abrar Hasan Mamun, Director of the Directorate of Students' Welfare (DSW), moderated the event.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Ziaur Rahman thanked Pubali Bank, noting the initiative would greatly improve student transport. 'This contribution by Pubali Bank is exemplary', he said. 'It demonstrates their commitment to understanding and addressing students' needs. This gift is not simply a vehicle—it represents a trust-based partnership between BUET and Pubali Bank'.
He encouraged students to use the buses conscientiously, stating, 'These buses embody reliability and support. I hope our students will appreciate and maintain this contribution from Pubali Bank'.
Speaking at the ceremony, Pubali Bank Managing Director and CEO Md Touhidul Alam Khan remarked, 'Today's event fills me with pride and joy. This initiative goes beyond corporate responsibility; it reflects our respect and appreciation for one of Bangladesh's premier academic institutions'.
He added, 'We trust these buses will benefit BUET students and hope our partnership will continue through our CSR fund, advancing the university's transport and development initiatives'.
The event included BUET deans, registrar, faculty, students and staff, along with senior Pubali Bank officials: Deputy Managing Director Md Shahinuzzaman Khan; Deputy General Manager and Shahbagh Branch Head, Ms Masuma Khatun; Assistant General Manager and Bashundhara Branch Head, Farhana Haque; Assistant General Manager, Md Mijanur Rahman; and Sales Manager of Corporate Banking Division, Ms Ifsara Aravat.
