Presiding officers' training begins 22 Jan ahead of elections
On 21 January, returning officers will publish the final list of candidates and allocate electoral symbols.
The Election Commission will begin training presiding officers and assistant presiding officers on 22 January in preparation for the 13th national parliamentary election and the referendum.
The information was confirmed today (14 January) by Md Hasanuzzaman, director general of the Election Training Institute.
According to him, the training programme will continue until 7 February and will cover more than 8 lakh officials involved in election duties across the country.
Meanwhile, the electoral process is progressing in line with the announced schedule. The scrutiny and finalisation of candidacies are currently underway, with 20 January set as the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers.

Election campaigning will officially begin on 22 January and will continue until 7:30am on 10 February. Voting is scheduled to take place on 12 February from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
