The president's signing of the July National Charter Implementation Order is "a matter of shame" for Bangladesh, and the BNP is solely responsible for this "stain," said Tarikul Islam, convener of the Jatiya Juboshokti, the youth wing of the National Citizen Party (NCP).
"Those who did not want the July Charter implementation and dismissed it as just an ordinary piece of paper are, in fact, the protectors of the fallen Awami League and fascism," he said on Wednesday night (13 November) after leading a motorbike patrol programme in Dhaka against the "lockdown" called by the banned Awami League.
Harshly criticising Awami League-style politics, he said, "Those who try to imitate Awami-style politics will face the same cruel fate. But the power of youth will not allow fascism to take root in the new Bangladesh."

Leaders and activists from the Dhaka metropolitan, Dhaka North and South district units, as well as Narayanganj and Gazipur city units of Jatiya Juboshokti, joined the motorbike patrol.
