Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Dhaka, is hosting a series of meetings with political party leaders.

In a note sent to the press, the US Embassy in Dhaka said, the meetings are being held to better understand their plans and positions as part of the Mission's continuing diplomatic engagement.

Diplomatic sources said the meetings have started today and it will continue in the coming days. However, they did not clarify which parties have joined today or when the next meeting will take place.

Earlier on 14 November, a three-member BNP delegation, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, held a meeting with Megan Bouldin, the US Embassy's chargé d'affaires in Dhaka.
