Tarique Rahman urges BNP leaders to remain vigilant against conspiracies
He reaffirms BNP’s commitment to democracy

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has called on party leaders and activists to remain alert and united against any conspiracies aimed at undermining democracy.
Speaking virtually from London as the chief guest at Patuakhali District BNP conference today (2 July), Tarique reminded party members of their continued responsibilities in safeguarding democratic values.
"After the fall of the dictatorship, the country had no government for three days. During that time, we issued directives from the centre, and you stood by the people and helped maintain law and order. That duty is not over," he said.
"It remains our responsibility to cooperate with the local administration in maintaining peace when needed."
Reaffirming the BNP's commitment to democracy, he said, "Just as we uphold democratic practices within the party by electing leaders through votes in our conferences, we want the 125 million voters of the country to have the same right to choose through the ballot. We must be alert to any attempt to subvert that right."
Tarique added, "We are hearing certain rumours. As followers of Shaheed Zia and Khaleda Zia, and as BNP activists, we must stay vigilant and aware of these developments."
