Tarique Rahman sends message of unity in BBC Bangla interview: Rizvi
“The party views the July charter, set to be signed on 15 October, positively, and hopes a political consensus can be reached through dialogue,” Rizvi said

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said Tarique Rahman's recent statements to BBC Bangla sent a message of unity.
"The party views the July charter, set to be signed on 15 October, positively, and hopes a political consensus can be reached through dialogue," Rizvi said to journalists this morning (10 October) at Shahid President Ziaur Rahman's mausoleum in Chandrima Udyan after laying a wreath on behalf of the newly formed Agricultureist Association of Bangladesh (AAB).
Rizvi said, "If we believe in democracy, it is possible to reach a reasonable decision through dialogue. We are hopeful of a positive political consensus on the July charter."
"Tarique Rahman spoke to BBC Bangla for the first time in 17 years. His words were not partisan. He did not wish harm on political opponents but sent a message of unity. He also stressed bringing those who committed crimes or oppression to justice legally," he added.
"Tarique Rahman's statement focused on national unity and has been widely accepted by civil society, advocacy groups, and the public," he further said.
On agriculture, Rizvi said, "Among the 31 points announced by Tarique Rahman, special emphasis was given to farmers. They are not receiving fair prices for their produce. The AAB must play an effective role."
He said the AAB will make policies to protect farmers and benefit the public, guided by their acting chairman.
The event was also attended by AAB convener Kamruzzaman and member secretary Shahadat Hossain Biplob.
