Swechhasebak Dal takes elaborate programmes marking 45th founding anniversary
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to join the event virtually from London

The Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Swechhasebak Dal has announced a series of nationwide programmes marking its 45th founding anniversary, set to be observed on 19 August.
The decision was made at a general meeting of the party's central committee held yesterday (13 August), chaired by party President SM Jilani and moderated by General Secretary Rajib Ahsan.
As part of the central programme, the national and party flags will be hoisted at 7am at the BNP's central office in the capital's Nayapaltan area. This will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the mausoleum of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at 10am.
Party leaders and activists will also recite sur'a Fateha and offer special prayers.
A discussion will take place at 2pm at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka's Agargaon area.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to join the event virtually from London as the chief guest.
In addition to the central programmes, the Swechhasebak Dal has organised a range of grassroots initiatives across the country.
On 19 August, district and metropolitan units will conduct rallies, cleanliness drives, install dustbins and plant fruit-bearing and forest-based trees.
Similar activities will continue the following day, 20 August, at upazila and municipal levels.
Central and district-level representatives will be present to oversee and participate in these initiatives.
President SM Jilani and General Secretary Rajib Ahsan have called on all party leaders and activists to ensure proper implementation of the planned programs across all organizational levels.
