Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has elected presidents and secretaries for the 2025 session across several units, including Dhaka University (DU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Jagannath University (JnU), Dhaka College, and Dhaka Metropolitan North.

It has also nominated some new organisational secretaries. The central office of Chhatra Shibir shared the information on its official Facebook page today (3 January).

Sadeq Abdullah, the central publicity secretary, told The Business Standard, "After the central president was elected and the secretary general was nominated, 142 branches across the country are set to complete their setup programs for the 2025 session by 10 January."

"In this sequence, new presidents will be elected in several other units, including Comilla University, and Faridpur town today," he said.

According to the party's official Facebook post, SM Farhad has been elected president, Mohiuddin Khan nominated as secretary, and Kazi Ashik appointed organisational secretary at DU. At JU, Muhibur Rahman Muhib has been elected president, with Mostafizur Rahman nominated as secretary. At JnU, Asadul Islam has been elected president, Riazul Islam as secretary, and Abdul Alim Arif as organisational secretary.

At Dhaka College, Abdul Haque Manik was elected president through a direct vote, and Mostaqim Ahmed was nominated as secretary. In Dhaka Metropolitan North, Anisur Rahman has been elected president, while Rezaul Karim Shakil has been nominated as secretary, the post reads.

The newly elected leaders were sworn in by the party's central President Zahidul Islam and Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam, it added.
