The preliminary list of candidates for the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (Rucsu) and Senate student representative elections has been released, excluding seven individuals after the verification process.
The list was published on the notice board and Rucsu's website at 5pm today (10 September). Among those excluded are candidates for the posts of vice-president (VP), general secretary (GS), assistant general secretary (AGS), and executive member.
In addition, two nominations for the Senate student representative positions have been canceled.
With this, the preliminary list includes 255 candidates for 23 Rucsu posts and 60 candidates for five Senate student representative posts. For Rucsu, 19 candidates are contesting the VP position, 14 for GS, and 16 for AGS.
Chief Election Commissioner Prof A F Nazrul Islam stated that most of the excluded candidates were left out due to missing bank deposit receipts, incomplete dope test reports, signatures, or other required documents.
Those excluded have the opportunity to appeal today. If they submit the necessary documents during the appeal, they will be included in the final list.
Additionally, the preliminary lists for the 17 hall unions are being prepared by the respective hall returning officers. Once finalised, the lists are to be published on the notice boards and the official website.
