Ongoing crisis in the country is intentional: Mirza Fakhrul
"It [the crisis] has been created to obstruct Bangladesh’s democratic transition," he said
A crisis has been created in the country, which is an unnecessary one, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today (12 November).
"There was no need for such a crisis. I believe it has been created with a very specific intention," he said while speaking at a discussion meeting held today (12 November) at the China–Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre to mark the historic 7 November's National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
"It [the crisis] has been created to obstruct Bangladesh's democratic transition — to prevent the election that is essential for the genuine reform in the country — and to push the people's future into uncertainty," he added.
Stressing the importance of the day, Mirza Fakhrul said that 7 November was a revolt against supremacy.
"As a result of that day, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman transformed the face of Bangladesh," he said.
Calling upon everyone to unite, the BNP leader said, "Let us all come together in unity and resist all conspiracies, paving the way for Bangladesh to truly evolve into a democratic state."
