Now NCP's Akhtar Hossain holds rallies with over 200 battery-run vans in Rangpur
One of the van drivers said the total rental cost for the vans exceeds Tk2,00,000

Just days after National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organiser (North) Sarjis Alam faced backlash for holding street rallies in various upazilas of the Panchagarh with more than a hundred cars, the party's Member-Secretary Akhtar Hossain has now held rallies using over 200 battery-run vans in Rangpur.
Akhtar visited Rangpur today (27 March) for the first time since being elected as the member-secretary of NCP.
He began his campaign around noon along with party leaders and activists at various places in Deuti, Syedpur, Kadamtala, Pirgachha, Nek Mamud (Tambulpur), Paotanahat, Bhaierhat in Pirgachha upazila and Tepamadhur of Kawnia upazila.
Speaking to journalists, Akhtar Hossain confirmed that 210 battery-run vans were hired for election campaigning.
One of the van drivers said the total rental cost for the vans exceeds Tk2,00,000.
Earlier, on 24 March, Sarjis Alam led a similar rally with a convoy of over 100 cars in different locations of Panchagarh, sparking public criticism.
