No question of Jamaat coming to power, says NCP's Nasiruddin Patwary
Patwari emphasised that his party rejects politics of hatred.

National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has ruled out any possibility of Jamaat-e-Islami coming to power, saying the party's ideology and past actions are "contrary to Bangladesh's independence, territorial integrity, and national spirit."
"Every time Jamaat has tried to reappear on the stage of history, the echo from the people's hearts has been clear — this country cannot be taken back into darkness," Patwary wrote in a Facebook post this evening (21 October).
Reaffirming his party's vision, Patwary said, "We believe in a Bangladesh built on justice, humanity, and solidarity. Every citizen here has rights and freedom of expression. But that freedom cannot be served as a shield for conspiracy."
He added, "Attempts to infiltrate the administration in disguise, to spread divisive politics, or to seize the state in the name of religion will never succeed again on this soil."
The NCP leader stated that the Qawmi, Sunni, Hindu, youth, and progressive people of Bangladesh are now united — in a bond to keep this land on the path of peace, harmony, and humanity.
He went on to say, "This is the soil that carries the blood of martyrs, the sky that once echoed with the calls of the Liberation War and the July Uprising. In such a Bangladesh, the politics of division will never find any place. Our duty is not only resistance but also protection to safeguard the map of Bangladesh, Islam, and the dignity of the nation's scholars and clerics."
Patwari emphasised that his party rejects politics of hatred.
He said, "We seek the politics of humanity. For those who have gone astray, our doors remain open so they may return to the Bangladesh – a country of democracy, justice, and free thought.
"This country is no one's enmity. It is a land of coexistence, mutual respect, and the call for a new future."
