No more politics of motorbikes and muscle: Hasnat
He stressed the need for building social resistance against injustice and wrongdoing, adding that the NCP has always stood by the truth.

The era of politics driven by muscle power and motorbikes is over, Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser (south) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), said today (7 September).
"Ten motorbikes and twenty thugs used to be enough to control an election. We put an end to that on 5 August. It had come to a point where the more thugs you had behind you, the bigger leader you became. But leadership is something else entirely — it should come from a leader's qualities, not from gangs and musclemen," he said.
Hasnat made the remarks at a meeting in Brahmankhara village of Barkamata union in Cumilla's Debidwar upazila, as part of the party's new constitution campaign.
He stressed the need for building social resistance against injustice and wrongdoing, adding that the NCP has always stood by the truth.
"Backed by political support, local activists often turn into criminals. But if ordinary villagers stand united against injustice, criminals will lose their courage," Hasnat said.
