NCP moving forward with constituent assembly election agenda: Nahid
State reforms will continue for the eradication of fascism, says the NCP convener

The National Citizen Party (NCP) is moving forward with the agenda of a constituent assembly election, Nahid Islam, convener of the party has said.
"State reforms will continue for the eradication of fascism. The ongoing reforms must be implemented soon. We want to see justice and reform implemented quickly," he said at NCP's Pahela Baishakh celebration event in the capital's Eskaton today (14 April).
"For the first time, we are able to celebrate a Hasina-free, fascist-free Baishakh. I hope we will be able to celebrate the Nababarsha as a national festival in the coming days," he added.
Commenting that the continuity of reforms should be implemented quickly, the NCP convener said, "We have asked for a roadmap for justice and reform from the government, through which we want to move towards a constituent assembly and the legislature."
Nahid said, "We already see that anti-fascist forces are not equally embracing the July Revolution and its aspirations. We clearly stated even during the July Revolution that our declaration was the eradication of fascism and the establishment of a new political order."
He further said, "This mass uprising is not just for the change of any individual or party. It is a movement to fundamentally change the state's structure, ensure people's right to justice, and establish a society based on fairness."
At the event, NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain said the necessary reforms of the state must be carried out by the interim government so that those who come to power later can continue these reforms.
