NCP to hold ‘mourning march’ in Cumilla today
The march will begin at 4pm from Paduar Bazar Bishwo Road and a memorial gathering will take place at 5pm in the town hall today (23 July)

The National Citizen Party (NCP) is set to hold a 'mourning march' in Cumilla today (23 July), following a two-day pause of rallies in solidarity with the devastating Milestone school jet crash which claimed over 30 lives and injured scores.
Navid Nawroz Shah, NCP's central joint-chief coordinator and regional supervisor for Cumilla, shared details of the event in a press release.
According to the press release, the procession will advance towards Cumilla via the Chandpur–Cumilla regional highway. Upon reaching the city, NCP leaders will first visit the grave of Shaheed Masum. The main procession will then begin from the Tomsom Bridge area.
From there, the route will follow through Pubali Square, Jhautala, Police Line, Zila Parishad Road, Fauzdari, Press Club, Shilpakala Mor, Mogoltuli, Rajganj, Monoharpur and Liberty Square, concluding at the Cumilla Town Hall. A public meeting will be held there, added the press release.
"Our team will share lunch with the family members of martyrs after arriving from Chandpur. The march will begin at 4pm from Paduar Bazar Bishwo Road and a memorial gathering will take place at 5pm in the town hall," Navid Nawroz Shah said.
"This is not just a political event but a moment of collective grief. The march and the meeting will serve as a tribute to those who were killed," he added.
Key NCP leaders expected to join the programme include Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Zara, North Zone Coordinator Sarjis Alam, South Zone Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Chief Coordinator Sadia Farzana Dina, Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin, Joint Member Secretary Zainal Abedin Shishir, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud.
The event will be presided over by Sirajul Haque, convener of NCP Cumilla Metropolitan Unit.
